Quick Start Guide
This guide walks you through creating your account, setting up your first warranty plan, and making your first test sale.
1. Create Your Account
Sign up at app.myumbrella.ai and complete the onboarding wizard. You’ll need:
- Business name and address
- Primary contact email
- Tax identification number (for revenue payouts)
2. Configure Your First Plan
Navigate to Warranty Plans → Create New and fill in:
Plan Name: 2-Year Extended Protection
Coverage Type: Accidental Damage + Mechanical
Price Model: Percentage of product price (12%)
Claim Limit: Up to original purchase price
Deductible: $0
3. Connect a Sales Channel
Go to Integrations and select your platform. For Shopify:
- Click Connect Shopify
- Authorize the myumbrella.ai app
- Select which products should show protection plan offers
- Choose widget placement (below Add to Cart)
4. Make a Test Sale
Switch to Test Mode in settings, then visit your storefront and add a product to cart. You should see the protection plan offer appear. Complete the checkout to verify the flow end-to-end.
