Shopify POS Extensions

Umbrella provides two Shopify POS extensions for in-store warranty sales and claims management.

POS Warranty Options

Adds warranty options to the cart in the Shopify POS app.

How to sell a warranty at POS

1. Add a product to the POS cart
2. Tap the product in the cart to view line item details
3. Select “Add Warranty” from the action menu
4. Choose a warranty tier from the modal (e.g., Basic 1 Year, Premium 2 Years)
5. The warranty is added to the cart as an additional line item
6. Complete the sale — the warranty policy is created automatically

No additional setup is needed. The “Add Warranty” option appears automatically in the POS cart line item actions after installing the Umbrella app.

POS Claims Form

Allows retail staff to file warranty claims on behalf of walk-in customers directly from the POS home screen.

How to file a claim at POS

1. Tap the Umbrella Claims tile on the POS home screen
2. Search for the customer by name, email, or order number
3. Select the warranty policy associated with the product
4. Fill out the claim details (issue description, photos, etc.)
5. Submit the claim for processing

If the tile is not visible on the POS home screen, check POS Settings → Home screen to ensure it is enabled.

Online vs. POS Comparison

POS transactions follow the same order webhook flow as online orders, so warranty policies are created consistently regardless of the sales channel.
