Product Registration
Product registration lets customers register purchased products and link them to your warranty system. Umbrella provides a public registration form and a dashboard for reviewing submissions.
The public registration form
The registration form is a customer-facing page at:
https://app.myumbrella.ai/product/register?shopDomain=your-store.myshopify.comThe shopDomain parameter is required. It identifies your Shopify store so Umbrella can load your product catalog.
The form collects: customer name, email, product selection, serial number, purchase date, and proof of purchase.
Standalone vs. embedded
- Standalone — accessed directly at the URL above in a full-page layout.
- Embedded — designed for use inside an iframe on your storefront or in a post-purchase email.
How to share the form
From the Registrations dashboard page, click Registration Form in the top-right corner. This opens the form in a new tab. Copy the URL and share it via email, order confirmations, or your storefront.
Registrations list
The Registrations page shows all submitted registrations in a table with columns for Registration ID, Customer, Product, Status, Submitted date, and a Review action.
If no registrations exist yet, you will see a link to the registration form.
Registration statuses
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Pending | Submitted and awaiting review |
| Approved | Verified and accepted |
| Rejected | Did not meet requirements |
Reviewing a registration
Click Review on any registration to open the detail view.
The review page shows:
- Registration details — ID, customer email, status, submission date
- Product information — product title, images, and variant details pulled from Shopify
- Attachments — proof of purchase or other files the customer uploaded
Integration with warranty policies
When a registration is approved, it can trigger creation of a warranty policy with status pending_registration. Some warranty plans require product registration before activation — the policy stays in this status until a matching registration is approved.
