Shopify Theme Extension
The Umbrella Theme App Embed provides the core script that powers all warranty widgets on your storefront. Once enabled, Umbrella handles the rest — no manual widget placement is needed.
Enable the Global App Embed
- Go to Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes and click Customize on your active theme
- Click the App Embeds icon (puzzle piece) in the left sidebar
- Find Umbrella and toggle it on
- Click Save

PDP Widget Configuration
The warranty selection widget on product detail pages (PDP) is controlled entirely from the Umbrella dashboard — not from the Shopify theme editor.
Once the Global App Embed is enabled and your PDP Widget is turned on in the Umbrella dashboard, warranty options appear on product pages automatically. The widget renders warranty options before the Add to Cart button without modifying your theme code.
What the Widget Displays
The PDP widget shows:
- Warranty plan name and logo at the top
- Protection description with a “Learn more” link
- Available warranty tiers (e.g., Basic 1 Year, Premium 2 Years) as selectable options
- Dynamic pricing that updates when the customer changes product variants
The widget automatically detects the current product and variant. It does not appear on warranty product pages themselves.
How It Works
The Global App Embed injects the Umbrella JavaScript on every page. When a customer visits a product page, the script checks for matching warranty plans and renders the widget. Both the theme embed and the PDP Widget setting must be active for the widget to display.
Widget display settings (inline, modal, or individual mode, auto-selection, custom templates) are controlled from Settings → Appearance → PDP Widget in the Umbrella dashboard.
Troubleshooting

| Styling conflicts with theme | Use custom widget templates at Settings → Appearance to match your theme design |
